TL071 Explained / Description: 

TL071 is an IC of the TL07X family. TL07X also contains other dual and quad operational ICs which are TL072 and TL074. TL071 contains a single operational amplifier inside. The chip is available in 8pin DIP and SO-8 packages. The internal circuitry of the IC is consisting of 14 transistors, 2 JFETs, 11 resistors, 1 diode, 1 capacitor and 1 epi-FET. The internal circuitry of the IC is designed to get low harmonic distortion and low noise which makes it ideal to use in audio preamplification circuits.

Moreover, the IC also featured short circuit protection at it output, latch-up free, fast slew rate, low current consumption, low quiescent current more many more features which make it a robust device and also make it reliable to use in commercial equipment.

The IC is also available in three different types according to the temperature range which can be determined with the first alphabet after its part number. If the alphabet is “C” then its storage and operating temperature will be 0 °C to 70°C. If that alphabet is “I” then its operating temperature will be -40°C to 85°C, and it that alphabet is “M” then its operating temperature will be -55°C to 125°C.

Replacement, Equivalent, Or Alternative ICs / Part Numbers:

If you can’t find the TL071 IC then you can also use other ICs of this family which are TL072 and TL074 and only you have to use their one internal opamp from either of these ICs. Other nearest possible replacements can be NE5534, TLE2071, TLE2072.


Application Circuit :

Max power dissipation is 680 milliwatt. It means the amount of heat this IC can handle and when it reaches to 680mW its temperature will go to 150 degrees centigrade.

Storage and Operating Temperature:

The IC should be operated under its mentioned temperature. As it is also mentioned above the storage temperature of the IC can be determined by the alphabet or suffix used after its part number.
