2SK30A Transistor Explained / Description:
2SK30A is an N channel JFET available in TO-92 and other packages. It is a low noise transistor that has noise figure of 0.5dB typically at VGS=0, VDS=15V, f=120Hz and RG=100kOhms. This means it can provide 0.5dB gain at the drain to source voltage of 15V, the gate to source voltage of 0V, with the frequency of the signal of 120Hz, and with RG or gate resistance of 100K. The transistor also processes other qualities/features such as “high input impedance”. A high input impedance is a characteristic in which the transistor does not apply much load on the input signal so the signal passes from the input to the output and still remains the same or in other words, we can say it without losing its quality. Another feature is its high breakdown voltage which means it can survive on voltage higher than its mentioned drain to source voltage and go upto -50V.
Looking at the characteristics of the transistor the maximum gate to drain voltage is -50V, max drain current is 0.3mA to 6.5mA, max gate current is 10mA, minimum to maximum gate to source cutoff voltage is -0.4mA to -5.0mA and max power dissipation is 100mW.
The transistor can be used in preamplifiers, high input impedance circuits, tone control amplifiers etc.

Safe Operating Guidelines / Absolute Maximum Ratings:
For safe operation of the transistor it is suggested that the transistor should not be to its absolute maximum ratings and the preferred ratings are 20% below from its absolute max ratings. Additionally, it is also recommended that the operating voltage of the transistor should be between -55°C to +125 °C.
