BC560 Transistor Explained / Description:

BC560 is a general purpose BJT PNP transistor available in TO-92 package. The max collector current of the transistor is -100mA and the maximum collector-emitter voltage is -45V. The max collector dissipation achieved with this transistor is 500mW. It is capable to provide DC current gain (hFE) from 110 to 800 and its noise figure is from 1.2 to 2 dB.

The transistor is manufactured in three different hFE values which can be determined with the help of the last alphabet after the transistor number. For example if the last alphabet will be “A” then its gain value will be 110 – 220, if “B” then its gain value will be 200 – 450 and if “C” then the gain value will be 420 – 800.

BC560 is a low noise and high gain transistor that can be used in wide variety of general applications which falls under its ratings. It can be used in many types of audio and signal amplification applications, and also for many general purpose switching applications.

Where We Can Use it & How to Use:

As said above that BC560 is a general purpose low noise and high gain transistor therefore it will perform well in many types of audio preamplifier applications, audio amplifier circuits, audio amplifier circuit stages, any type of small signal amplification such as digital signal or an RF signal ( RF signal under 150 MHz ) and any other small electronic signals of different applications. Other than that it can be used as a switch to drive load under -100mA.

Applications:

Increasing Audio Gain

Sensor Circuits

Darlington Pairs

Signal Amplification

Radio & RF Applications

Mic Amplifier

Audio Amplifiers and Stages

How to Safely Long Run in a Circuit:

For long life performance some main points should be kept in mind during designing a circuit or using it in a circuit. For good safety we suggest to use all components 20% below from its max ratings and same applies to BC560. The max collector current of the transistor is -100mA therefore do not drive load of more than 80mA. The max collector emitter voltage is -45V therefore do not drive load of more than 36V and always store or use this transistor in temperature above -65 degree centigrade and below +150 degree centigrade.
