2SC2328 Transistor Explained / Description:

2SC2383 is a TO-92L NPN transistor (TO-92L package has slightly bigger height as compare to TO-92 transistor package). The transistor is having quite interesting features. Although it is built to use in color TV vertical output and its audio circuitry but its specs makes it ideal to use in many other applications. It can be used for switching and amplification applications. The transistor is capable to drive upto 1A of load when used as a switch.

Moreover the max dc current gain of 320 and collector dissipation of 0.9 watt also makes it a good transistor to use in audio amplifier stages and also as a separate amplifier to drive a small speaker. With maximum transition frequency is 100MHz this transistor can also perform well in RF circuits of upto 100MHz frequency.

 

 

Where We Can Use it & How to Use

2SC2383 transistor can be used in wide variety of applications, if you want to use it as a switch it can drive many loads that falls under 1000mA range for example relays, high power and low power LEDs, high power transistors, DC motors etc. It will also works reliably in DC high voltage circuits of upto 160V.

It can also be used in audio amplifier circuits / audio amplifier stages and also works well when used to drive a speaker from a low level audio output. Other than that it will also perform well in AM and FM radios, FM transmitters, TV circuits etc.

How to Safely Long Run in a Circuit

For good and long term performance do not use electronic components to its maximum values and always stay atleast 20% below from its maximum specifications. The maximum collector current is 1000mA therefore do not drive load of more than 800mA and the load voltage should be under 128 to 130V DC. When transistor is in use the temperature around it should not be increased from +150 and always store in temperature above -55 centigrade and below +150 centigrade.
