MJE15302 Transistor Explained / Description:

MJE15032 is an NPN transistor available in TO-220 package by several manufacturers. The transistor has many good features such as high transition frequency of 30MHz, high collector to emitter voltage of 250V DC etc. The collector current of the transistor is 8A and the peak collector current is 16A. The peak collector is the value of the transistor on which the transistor can survive only few micro seconds. The maximum power dissipation of the transistor is 50 Watts. The transistor is primarily designed for audio amplifier’s high frequency driver applications but due to its interesting specs it can also be used in variety of other electronic applications. It is a power transistor therefore a suitable heatsink is must, the collector of the transistor is also connected with the heatsink mounting tab therefore it is recommended to isolate the heatsink with the open connections of the circuit.


Where We Can Use it & How to Use:

MJE15032 transistor is primarily designed to use in audio amplifier’s high frequency driver circuitry but it is not limited to these uses and can also be used for wide variety of other purposes such as switch, motor driver, variety of high DC voltage applications etc.

Safe Operating Guidelines / Absolute Maximum Ratings:

To get long life performance with this transistor do no use it on its absolute maximum ratings and stay 20% below from the these ratings. The maximum collector current of the transistor is 8A so do not drive load of more than 6.4A. The maximum collector to emitter voltage is 250V therefore do not drive load of more than 200V, use a suitable heatsink with the transistor, and always store and operate the transistor in temperature -65°C and below +150°C.
