SS9012 Transistor Explained / Description
SS9012 is a BJT transistor manufactured in TO-92 package, it is also used in many commercial electronic appliances and devices. The transistor can be used for many common applications but according to the manufacturer it is mainly designed for audio amplification purposes and it can be used as a 1000mW amplifier for any device that provides few miliwatts audio output. Like other general purpose transistors which are 2N3906, 2N4403, BC559 etc. the SS9012 can also be used as a general purpose device in wide variety of electronics applications and it is also a must to have transistor in the electronic lab. Apart from that this transistor can also be used as a switch to drive loads under 500mA. Where We Can Use SS9012 Transistor & How to Use
As mentioned above SS9012 is a general purpose PNP BJT transistor therefore it can be used in wide variety of general purpose applications. For example it can be used as an audio amplifier to directly drive a 1 watt speaker. It can also be used in audio amplification stages of an audio amplifier circuit. How to Get Long Term Performance
To get long term performance from SS9012 transistor it is recommended to always drive load under 500mA with this transistor, do not operate load of more than 20V. Use a suitable base resistor with the transistor. Always check pin configuration before placing in the circuit and do not store or operate the transistor in temperature below -55 centigrade and above +150 centigrade.
