2SC732 Transistor Explained / Description:
2SC732 is a TO-92 package NPN transistor designed to be used in low noise audio amp applications. The transistor has some good features such as high breakdown voltage, good collector-emitter voltage, DC current gain of 200 to 700, low noise capability and transition frequency of upto 150MHz.
Looking at the absolute maximum ratings of the transistor, the collector current is 150mA, collector-emitter voltage is 50V, emitter-base voltage is 5V, collector-base voltage is 60V, collector power dissipation is 400mW, junction temperature is 125°C and the storage temperature is from -55°C to 125°C.
The transistor is available in two different version according to its DC current gain and can be identified with the help of the codes given below:
The Code “GR” means it has a gain of 200 to 400 and the code “BL” means it has a gain of 350 to 700.
All the above features and characteristics of this transistor make it a versatile transistor that can be used not only in audio amplifiers but a wide variety of applications.
How to Use This Transistor:
2SC732 is has three pins which are emitter, base and collector. The signal that you want to use to control the output load (as we do in a switch circuit) or you want to amplify (as we do in amplifier circuits) in both conditions the signal will be applied to the base pin, the emitter pin will be connected with the negative rail of the circuit and the collector pin or the final output pin will be connected with the load you want to drive. (in switch circuit), and in amplifier circuit the final amplified output will also be received at collector. Moreover, to make a proper circuit you also have to use some passive components and to use them you will require some knowledge and experience of electronic circuits.
Applications:
Audio Amplifiers
Signal Amplification
Sensor Circuits
Audio Preamplifiers
RF Circuits
Darlington Pairs
Switching loads under 150mA
And more…
Safe Operating Guidelines:
To safely operating the transistor always use the transistor under its absolute maximum ratings and stay at least 20% to 30% from these ratings. The operating and storage temperature should not be less than -55°C and more than 150°C.
