2SC460 Transistor Explained / Description:
2SC460 is a NPN available in TO-92 package. The transistor is designed to be used in high frequency amplifiers and mixers. Some good features of the transistor are transition frequency of upto 230MHz, noise figure of 2.0 etc
Looking at the absolute maximum ratings of the transistor collector-emitter voltage is 30V, collector current is 100mA, collector-base voltage is also 30V, emitter-base voltage is 5V, collector power dissipation is 200mW, junction temperature is 150°C and storage temperature is -55°C to 150°C.
The transistor is available in three different hFE values which can be identified with the help of the alphabet written after the part number. If the alphabet is “A” then its hFE value will be 35 to 70, if that alphabet is B then its hFE value will be 60 to 120 and if the alphabet is “C” then its hFE value will be 100 to 200.
How to Use This Transistor:
2SC460 is designed to be used in high frequency signal amplification applications where it is configured in common emitter mode in which we connect the emitter pin with ground or negative rail of the circuit through a resistor, collector pin with positive rail of the circuit, apply signal to its base and the amplified signal will be connected at the collector.
Applications:
Audio Preamplifier Circuits
FM tuner and Amplifier
Signal Amplification
Audio Amplifier Circuits
Darlington Pairs
Safe Operating Guidelines:
Follow these guidelines to safely operate the transistor:
- Operate the transistor at least 20% below from its absolute maximum ratings.
- Always check pin layout before using in the circuit.
- Storage and operating temperature should maintained between this range. -55°C to 125°C.
