2SC3182 Transistor Explained / Description:
2SC3182 is an NPN power transistor designed for audio amplifier applications. The transistor features high collector-emitter voltage, good collector current, up to 30MHz transition frequency, and availability of its complimentary transistor.
Looking at the absolute maximum ratings of the transistor the collector-emitter voltage is upto 140V, collector current is 10A, emitter-base voltage is 5V, collector-base voltage is also 140V, base current is 1A, total power dissipation is 100W, junction temperature is 150°C and the storage temperature is from -55°C to 150°C.
2SC3182 is mainly designed to be used in power amplifiers and also to be usd in high fidelity audio amplifiers of upto 7 Watts but can also be used in other applications that fall under electrical ratings.
The transistor is available in two different types according to its DC current gain or hFE. The alphabet after the part number shows the hFE value of the transistor so if the alphabet is “R” then its DC current gain will be 55 to 110 and if the alphabet is “O” then its DC current gain value will be 80 to 160.
How to Use This Transistor:
2SC3182 is designed to be used in audio amplifier applications but can also be used in other general purpose applications such as switch circuits, charger circuits, power supply circuits etc. It is a BJT transistor so the using procedure is same as we use any other NPN BJT transistor.
